Christopher Vidal is a celebrated artist residing in Australia, whose paintings have gained recognition in exhibitions across the nation. Identifying as a contemporary realist, his unique landscapes and still-life works serve as clear representations of reality. Born in Malta and currently based in Sydney, he developed an interest in art during his early years. He spent 3 years at the School of Arts at Palazzo de La Salle in Malta during the mid-1980s. After completing his academic studies, Chris devoted 25 years to working as a scientist in various laboratories and as a medical researcher in both Malta and Australia.
Chris enjoys exploring a variety of subjects through different media, yet he is particularly drawn to landscape painting using oils or acrylics. He finds that painting landscapes allows him to connect with his innate passion for science, the environment, and art. Through landscape painting, he feels a profound connection to nature. His skills are continually evolving, driven by his personal observations of the world around him, which inspire him to translate these perceptions onto canvas using paint. Through his work, Chris aims to convey a message to all who see or own his art. Aside from sharing his travel experiences of lesser-known places, the essence of his message is centered around the beauty of life on this planet and encouraging everyone to cherish every moment. Our existence is brief, and thus we must make the most of it while remembering that we are part of nature, responsible for caring for it and ensuring it remains unharmed for future generations to appreciate.
Chris is also an instructor, teaching drawing and painting to both adults and children in various locations across Sydney. His artworks are part of private and corporate collections in Australia and worldwide.
